QR Code

For some time now I have seen this weird thing here and there, today finally I decided to do some research about it.

QR Code is something similar to bar code, but it can contain much more information. Guess what I like it. If you visit my blog you will find it on the right side or portfolio and there you can find it on the left side.

I am using it on my pages as bookmarks thingy. You can read the information that is encoded in the code by scanning with your phone camera. After that you just click and you are on the right page, without having to write (in some cases very) lengthy website addresses.

At the moment I am using Quick Mark software on my phone. It is free, but you need to register first before you can download the application. They support a lot of phones. You can also visit Nokia for more information for Nokia users.

I wrote a widget for Flatpress and you can find it here.

    Hey man,

Interesting technics, although I can’t really see the reason for using it as a kind of url shortcut.. making an extension for firefox (which can isolate the wanted url) and a bluetooth obex chatclient which sends the data too your phone would be probably more straight forward, because most blogs/sites won’t embed a QR code sample.. Give it a thought ;)

    See ya around.

p.s: Maybe you should throw your posts through a spelling checker before posting.. No offence, because I know not everybody lived in the UK for a while ;) But it would make your posts more professional :D
